Most flooring decisions go wrong at the sample stage. A four-inch chip of tile and a postcard of carpet tell you almost nothing about how a room will feel, and no photograph has ever settled whether a plank reads warm or grey under your own light.
So we built the shop around full boards. The plank aisle stands a whole plank upright next to the one you were also considering. The tile wing racks large-format boards instead of chips. And when you have narrowed it down, there are two chairs and a table by the coffee bar where you put the carpet, the plank and the stone on the same surface and look at the three of them together, which is the only comparison that has ever mattered.
We are second generation and family-owned, with over 50 years of combined experience between us, English and Spanish across the floor, and members of the Belton Chamber, the Temple Area Builders Association and the Shaw Flooring Network.

Open plan
Wide plank running from the entry through the living space and into the kitchen, with the beam line overhead and nothing to trip the eye at the transitions. Open plans punish a floor that was chosen room by room.
Nursery
Waterproof plank against a sage board-and-batten wall. The floor in this room has to survive spills, a rocking chair and a cat, and still look like it belongs in the rest of the house.
Living & dining
Shot from floor level, which is the only honest way to photograph a laminate: the grain repeat and the bevel are where a cheap board gives itself away. This one runs unbroken into the dining room.
Hearth room
The plank butts the existing hearth tile square. Transitions are where installations are won or lost, and a metal strip across the middle of a room is the compromise you have to live with for a decade.
The tile and stone lines that go on your floor also go up the shower wall and behind the range. Because it is the same showroom and the same crews, the grout, the plank and the backsplash get chosen against each other rather than in three separate appointments.
